Application and Information
If the Contractors License Board requires a disciplinary bond, please provide a copy of the letter from the Board so we may determine which company will accept your application and what steps are necessary to get approval.
Disciplinary bonds are inherently harder to obtain. They are issued for a reason. Usually it is for infractions that have been resolved but the board feels that the contractor needs to provide additional protection to the public, based on his past problems.
After a period of years the disciplinary bond requirement is usually removed. Further, the disciplinary bonds limit or amount can be as high as ten times the amount as the standard contractors bond present limit of $15,000.00.
Please fill out the Disciplinary Bond Application and return it to us via fax. We will submit it to the surety underwriter to determine if they will approve your application or approve it with conditions. This bond takes a little longer to process, due to additional questions they may ask and information they may require prior to approval. Of course, some applications will not be approved. We suggest that you make every effort to fill out the application completely and legibly. If the surety is unable to read the application, the process will be delayed until the information is clarified. It is best to gather all the documentation that applies to any event that triggered the request for a disciplinary bond by the Contractors License Board. Please note that many of these bonds may require collateral or a qualified co-signer who has very good credit. The percentage depends on your credit.
